The Theory Of Creativity
Where does inspiration come from? Did they teach you how to get some at school? Nobody really knows, especially not Joel. He’s looking all over the place for a muse to guide his pen. Joel is in the process of writing the screenplay for Bloody Murder VI: Murder on the First Date. But before he even gets past the first line, he quits and realizes that he has a serious case of writers block. And after further examination, he finds that needs to write a much more meaningful piece of cinematic text. Thus he begins his journey.  Looking for inspiration, Joel goes through many learning processes he goes back to school, only to find that there’s nothing there for him. He then begins to explore alternate forms of art such as music, still no success. Joel’s search for inspiration is a story of the hunt for meaning and the perfect cup of coffee.

Dude
Wes Farley, ex-riverboat gambler on the Colorado mining frontier of the 1870's has a small problem - he's been stripped of all his goods and left naked, gut-shot, and staked out to die on the desert floor. He is rescued from this fate by Amos Barnes and his granddaughter Becky, a pair of hard-scrabble prospectors who appear to be transplants from Dogpatch and whose lifestyle, manner, and mien are 180 degrees from Wes' own. This makes for an abrasive and sometimes comical convalescence, especially when the worldly and sophisticated gambler is confronted by the powerful naiveté of Becky, whose homespun intuitive wisdom cuts through pretension and artifice like a knife. She attaches herself to him in a manner reminiscent of Sadie Hawkins Day and is instrumental in his efforts to confront his adversaries and recover his goods. Their evolving relationship is a study in contrasts and at the heart of the film.
